Key technical information

Standard pre-cast pile sizes 190mm 235mm 275mm 350mm 400mm
Load capacity (typically) 300kN 500kN 800kN 1,200kN 1500kN
Standard steel tube pile diameter 178 to 762
Maximum pile depth 60m (larger depths available on request)
Noise profile at 10m 77-82db at rear of rig 85-90db at front of rig

Driven piles are particularly effective in areas with soft alluvial deposits or made ground. The technique is unaffected by groundwater, generates no spoil and allows for immediate follow-on construction – making it ideal for the commercial, industrial, energy and residential sectors, particularly in heavily contaminated ground.

Our team of experts install high-quality precast concrete and steel tube piles that are engineered for performance and built to last. Long and slender columns are driven into the ground with impact hammers to reach the designed depth and to provide support or resistance.

Our systems are designed to minimise disruption, including in environmentally sensitive areas, through the use of enclosed hydraulic hammers that reduce noise levels. Driven piling solutions can, with the right site controls, be implemented within five metres of existing structures, with noise and vibration managed through detailed planning and execution.

Our in-house capability to design and cast piles, using our linked concrete batching plant, allows us to provide bespoke, sustainable material solutions to meet ever-changing demand. Precast concrete piles are manufactured off-site in standard lengths up to 15 metres and installed using self-erecting hydraulic rigs. Where greater depths are required, piles are jointed using either the UNIjoint – for compressive loads – or the Multijoint, which supports higher bending and shear forces. This modular approach ensures flexibility and precision across all projects.

Optional enlarged pile heads can be added to distribute loads more effectively, reducing the need for heavy slab reinforcement and protecting underlying membranes.

With a focus on safety, quality and innovation, our driven piling solutions are designed to meet the demands of modern construction – efficiently, reliably and responsibly.
